In 1937, the Erimanshof on Petersgraben, the artists' house of the Basel painter Ernst Stückelberg (1831-1903), was demolished. Some fragments of wall paintings that had been broken out of the walls were saved. After a long slumber, they have now found a new home in the Klingental monastery kitchen. They provide an insight into the private interior of a 19th century Basel artist and allow visitors to experience the aura in which Ernst Alfred Stückelberg, founder of the preservation of historical monuments in Basel, grew up.
