Cost: CHF 12/18, no registration required, in German Talk with the writer Lana Lux and Agota Lavoyer, expert on sexualised violence, in cooperation with Literaturhaus Basel The writer Lana Lux and non-fiction author Agota Lavoyer talk about their books with curator Dr Sandra Beate Reimann at Museum Tinguely. In their works, the authors have analysed mechanisms and patterns of sexualised violence and contributed to the fact that the topic has now become part of public discourse in German-speaking countries. With the letters of the Cartas de Mujeres project, writing about violence is also at the centre of Suzanne Lacy's video installation on display in the museum. We take this as an opportunity to discuss the role of language and writing in dealing with gender-specific violence. Lana Lux Lana Lux is a German-language writer, illustrator and presenter of Ukrainian-Jewish origin. She was born in Dnipro in 1986, emigrated to the Ruhr region in 1996 and has lived in Berlin since 2010. In her novel Geordnete Verhältnisse, published in 2024, she describes the development of a relationship from a friendship to a couple's relationship that is increasingly characterised by anger, obsession and violence. Agota Lavoyer Agota Lavoyer works as a counsellor, speaker and author to improve support for victims of sexualised violence and to prevent sexualised violence. As a victim support counsellor, she has supported hundreds of victims of sexualised violence in recent years. Her non-fiction book Jede_Frau, published in 2024. Über eine Gesellschaft die sexualisierte Gewalt verharmlost und normalisiert became a Swiss non-fiction bestseller. In it, she reveals the extent of sexualised violence and criticises the way society deals with it. An event in cooperation with the Literaturhaus Basel.
