Meet the artists Hécatombe Collectives

23 March 2023 | 7.00 PM

The collective Hécatombe is to be seen for the first time in German-speaking Switzerland, with an exhibition and a review of artwork produced in the last three years. One highlight is an exhibition section that will be created right before the eyes of the public over a four-week period. As artists in residence at Atelier Mondial, the collective will also take the opportunity to document newly produced works in a publication. A tour of the exhibition with the artists will give visitors deeper insight into the collective’s work and stylistic diversity – from subtle ink drawings through to digital comics.
In cooperation with Atelier Mondial

Institution

The Cartoonmuseum Basel is the only museum of its kind devoted exclusively to satirical art – from the caricature to the comic. The Late Gothic building on its historic site also includes an unexpected new building by Herzog & de Meuron. Varying, attractively designed exhibitions on political and social themes show the considerable scope of the humorous drawing and the great diversity of artistic techniques. Equal attention is paid to both classical works, some from the museum’s own stocks, and contemporary works.
