Medienkultur A-Z: Livestreaming and Virtual Communities

28 October 2021 | 6.00 PM - 7.00 PM

From ultra-capitalised e-sports to niche intimate virtual communities - let's explore the possibilities of livestreaming with regards to community building!

As part of the Radical Gaming exhibition we warmly invite you to join us for the October edition of Medienkultur A-Z to enter and explore the world of livestreaming and its potentials for building, growing and nurturing communities. We will start with a Twitch livestreaming 101. Following this, our speakers will explore the importance of livestreaming and virtual spaces for marginalised communities. Speakers will be announced in October!

Media Culture A-Z: Social Media Activism is the third event in the new series Media Culture A-Z. A monthly series of events that takes a closer look at phenomena from current events in media culture in a low-threshold atmosphere. Experts and artists provide information and handouts on a wide variety of digital culture topics, and participants gain concrete insights and can exchange experiences. The event series sees itself as an antidote to the individualization of online practice, where everything is always one's own personal problem: we do it together. Media Culture A-Z is aimed at a broad public, from young people, adults and seniors, who are interested in current social issues and would like to deepen their background knowledge of digital practices.
