Performance «Until a thousand roses bloom (with Warsaw in the background)» by Alex Baczynski-Jenkins

The Polish-British artist and choreographer Alex Baczynski-Jenkins (*1987) deploys micro-gestures, dance, and minimal sets to trace desire, alienation, and collectivity. His practice is specifically concerned with the mediation and politics of queer desire, staging affect and intimacy through live performance. At Kunsthalle Basel, several recent performances by Baczynski-Jenkins will be experienced during special opening hours for the duration of the exhibition.

Over the duration of his solo exhibition the Polish-British artist and choreographer Alex Baczynski-Jenkins (* 1987) presents three recent performances during special opening hours:

Kunsthalle Basel is dedicated to exhibiting, discussing, and reflecting on the art of the present, and it has been so ever since its founding in 1872. It is renowned for its audacious and varied program as well as for its engagement with artists, often before they are widely known. Curious visitors of all ages are welcome to its spectacular display spaces for thought-provoking exhibitions and events.
 

Library
The library of the Basler Kunstverein is free and open to the public. It houses an impressive selection of 30,000 books and catalogues on topics related to contemporary art and subscribes to 35 different magazines of art and culture.
