The Kunstmuseum Basel ǀ Gegenwart turned forty in 2020. To mark this occasion, the house is showing new works from the collection of the Emanuel Hoffmann Foundation (EHS) with a selection of large-format works and groups of works. The focus is on works that require special spatial conditions and are rarely, in some cases even for the first time, presented at the Kunstmuseum Basel. The exhibition will be rearranged several times over the course of a year.
Currently on view: Works by Paul Chan, Katharina Fritsch, Alexej Koschkarow, Klara Lidén, Elizabeth Peyton, Thomas Ruff, Anri Sala, Monika Sosnowska, Fiona Tan, Mark Wallinger

Institution
The Kunstmuseum Basel invites visitors on a journey through art history from the 15th century to the present day at three locations. Masterpieces from the collection, high-caliber special exhibitions and programs offer the public multi-layered approaches to art. The Hauptbau and Neubau are located in the heart of the city - just a few minutes from the SBB train station, and a short streetcar ride from the Badischer Bahnhof train station. The Kunstmuseum Basel | Gegenwart, dedicated entirely to contemporary art, is idyllically situated on the banks of the Rhine in Grossbasel.
