Der Internationale Museumstag wurde vor über 40 Jahren vom Internationalen Verband der Museen ins Leben gerufen. Seither findet er jedes Jahr im Mai statt. Er erinnert daran, welchen Wert Museen für den kulturellen Austausch haben. Im vergangenen Jahr nahmen weltweit mehr als 37'000 Museen in 158 Ländern und Gebieten an der Veranstaltung teil. Auch wir sind wiederum mit dabei und offerieren den ganzen Tag kostenlosen Eintritt in unser Haus.
