The Cost of Life. A perspective on health by Patrick Hartley.

Today: 10.00 AM - 5.00 PM

12 October 2021 - 23 January 2022

Special exhibition in cooperation with the Museum Tinguely and Roche Basel

The English expression «cost of life» is strongly connotated with risk, a focal aspect of medicine and research. Both themes are central in the œuvre of artist Patrick Hartley, prompting Roche to celebrate its 125th anniversary by commissioning an exhibition in collaboration with the Museum Tinguely and the Pharmacy Museum Basel at their premises from him. The continuity in mankind’s quest for health becomes tangible by the field of tension between the past and the future. Drawing parallels to today’s perception of health and healthcare, Paddy Hartley provides an artistic comment on the progress of medicine and its manifold and sometimes contradictory consequences for humanity.
